DELL E6400 SD HOST CONTROLLER DRIVER

I have a number of cards that all look the same, but three others say SD explicitly on them, and when I plug them in, Linux does recognize them. Everything has been installed properly no exclamation mark in device driver. I got a couple Dell E computers and everything works except the SD card reader. Blessed are the peacemakers I don’t have an E, so I can’t guarantee that this should be marked solved, but it probably should.

Perhaps the E uses the same driver?

Dell E will not see internal SD card reader.

Any other cards are not seen because the drivers are not available for Linux. In my experience the only difference I notice after an upgrade is that things stop working – I don’t think I’ve ever seen any improvement.

E6400 Driver for SD Card Reader (Windows XP)

I have the same problem since a recent “upgrade”. Not recognised now whether plugging in on boot-up or added afterwards. Also see this thread.

Most of the ee6400 are probably running some version of Windows. The hard ware is recognized but it does not work. I ddll do a fresh install windows XP. Are you trying the card reader with a standard SD card? John, I still have no luck on the SD card reader. John RatseySep 28, I plugged it into my Dell Latitude E and there was no indication that anything was plugged in.
